How this works

Where does this data come from?

Every record is a building permit issued or applied for with city building departments, published on their open-data portals. We group the raw applications by location and translate the permit types into plain English. Each entry links to the official permit record.

What does a permit tell me?

A new-commercial or multifamily permit is a ground-up build with the longest runway and the biggest spend. A tenant finish-out means a business is building out a leased space fast. Site work and foundation permits are the earliest signal of a build. Every one is a buyer of materials, trades and services.

How fresh is it?

Cities publish new permits daily. We check for new Texas permits every hour and email alerts as they appear. This page shows the last 7 days.

Who uses NewBuildWire?

Building-material suppliers, subcontractors, equipment rental, dumpster and portable-toilet companies, signage, security, insurance and bonding agents: anyone who wants to be the first call a new project gets.
